Assignment 1 - How to deal with sports injury and illness

Assignment Information

There are many reasons why sports injuries happen and, as a result, many different types of sports injuries. These are classificied by identifying the cause of the injury:
  • loading
  • intrinsic factors
  • extrinsic factors
  • over-use
  • alignment
  • intensity
  • effect of levers
  • gravity
  • resistance

As with causes of injuries, there are also many different types of sports injuries. Some are more common than others, e.g. bruises. Some are common to certain positions played within a game, for example- lowering a weight too quickly becuase it is too great to control.

The procedures you follow may vary slightly depending on the organisation that you are working for or the qualification to treat people that you have. However the basic rules will stay the same.
